Being pregnant, giving birth and becoming a new parent within nine months is an emotional rollercoaster and I am thankful to have had Taryn at my side throughout the journey. As a first-time mother, everyone was giving me advice and sharing personal experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly and it is a lot to take in. My partner and I wanted to be able to talk to someone that could help us through the steps we’d be going through as well as someone who was able to actively listen to our concerns and help guide us through. Taryn was compassionate and brought a ton of knowledge with a holistic touch! She made us feel comfortable and confident in the decisions we were making and gave us the tools to ensure that we knew as much as possible before our son entered the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. When should I register? I recommend registering as soon as possible to secure your spot. Our group classes are designed to be limited in size so we have an opportunity for an intimate online experience.

2. How soon should I be enrolling? I welcome you at any point in your pregnancy. Ideally, your classes will finish 3-5 weeks prior to your due date as I find this is the optimal time to absorb the information and retain it for your upcoming labour and birth.

3. What is covered in class?
  • Physiology of labour and birth
  • Partner support and how to work together during labour and birth
  • Hands on support and positions for labour and birth
  • Navigating the unexpected and decision making
  • Cesarean birth
  • Postpartum preparation and adjustments
  • Breastfeeding basics
  • Newborn care basics
  • and more!

4. What is included in my registration?
  • Each registration includes attendance for the birthing person and one support partner. Private classes offer the flexibility to have multiple support partners present (ie. Doula, mom, friend).
  • One Birth With Love Handbook for the two of you (PDF or Paper copy, your choice)
  • Tea and light snacks (In person classes only)

5. Are your classes specific to home or hospital births?
Whether you are planning a home birth or a hospital birth, these classes will support you. My classes focus on the process of labour and birth and how to best support yourself to navigate this transformative journey regardless of where or how you give birth.

6. What if I need to miss a class? Please let me know ahead of time if you are unable to make a group class. Unfortunately, I am unable to accommodate make up group classes.

7. Once I have registered, can I move into a different class? Yes, should space be available, you may transfer your registration to a class that better suits your schedule.

8. Cancellation Policy? You may cancel your registration up to 2 weeks before your class start date, however a $50.00 administration fee is charged. Cancellation less than 2 weeks before your start date is non-refundable. Should you need to cancel your booking please let me know via email.

From time to time a workshop or series may need to be cancelled due to low enrolment. If this becomes necessary, I will notify you within two weeks of the planned start date. At that time you will have the choice to transfer your registration to another group class, or choose a private class at no additional charge. If you prefer not to rebook, I will provide you with a full refund.

9. Do I need to bring a support person with me to the classes? Every pregnancy, labour and birth will be unique to each individual. One thing is consistent, every birthing person needs support. Whether that support is your partner, mom, best friend, Doula, or someone else that is special to you, that choice is yours. I encourage you to attend class with the person who will be supporting you.

10. What forms of payment do you take? You may pay by interact e-transfer or credit card. Your place in class will be held once payment has been received. Payment plans are available upon request. Payment plans are available, just email me at [email protected] for more information.
